Last Updated on February 1, 2022 by Guillermina

Are there vegan garlic bread brands? Is bread vegan? Where do we find vegan bread?! Whether a fresh vegan or seasoned veteran in the field of veganism, finding vegan-ized foods can be rough and extraneous. There aren’t many vegan garlic bread brands, unfortunately. To the point that I had to scrap for the keywords “garlic”, “vegan”, and “bread” in the same sentence (hence the garlic knots provided below). Though the news about low to practically non-existent brands available of vegan garlic brands is pretty unfortunate, there thankfully are a grand amount of vegan bread brands that can easily be made into vegan garlic bread at home.

Why Is Garlic Bread Usually Not Vegan?

Unfortunately, many—as in most—garlic bread brands are not vegan. This is due to either the garlic butter spread they use, which contains dairy, or because the bread itself contains milk and eggs, both non-vegan ingredients. For a brand of garlic bread to be considered vegan, they would be required to use either a vegan butter, or margarine, or a butter-flavored replacement that is vegan-friendly. The bread would also need to be free of milk and eggs.

Best Vegan Garlic Bread Brands To Buy

Chopsie’s, Garlic Knots

Out of the practically non-existent brands for vegan garlic bread brands available to vegans, I managed to scrounge up a pretty close alternative—garlic knots! Chopsie’s Garlic Knots are made from the provided ingredients: soybean oil, flour, apple juice, water, garlic, salt, yeast, oregano, and spices. All you have to do is add to a preheated oven for the garlic knots to warm up and you’ve got garlicky, toasted garlic knots to pair with your vegan lasagna, spaghetti, and more!
